A kid friendly snack & dessert idea that make parents happy too
If you're on the lookout for a kid friendly snack or dessert that's not only delicious but also packed with valuable nutrients for your little ones, look no further! These mango yogurt clusters are an absolute game-changer.
Created with simplicity in mind, these clusters are a breeze to make, requiring just a few ingredients. But don't let their simplicity fool you; they're loaded with essential nutrients that are vital for your kids' growth and development. Think vitamin A for healthy skin, vitamin C for immunity, protein for muscle growth, fiber for good digestion, and the list goes on!
I've taken this recipe up a notch by incorporating two varieties of mangoes for an extra burst of sweetness and flavor. And for an added nutritional punch, I've included hemp hearts, making these clusters a powerhouse of goodness (Here is a link to my favorite brand of seeds, Tiny Sprouts. Use code CHACHA to save on your order!).
But here's the best part - these mango yogurt clusters are highly customizable. Whether you prefer them as a kid friendly snack for on the go or as a delicious dessert option, you can tailor them to suit your tastes and preferences. And for the little ones who aren't ready for, or who aren't keen on chocolate, you can keep them plain to enjoy!
So, if you're ready to tantalize your taste buds while nourishing your kids from the inside out, read on for the full recipe and get ready to whip up a batch of these delightful mango yogurt clusters!
Ingredients for Chocolate Mango Yogurt Clusters:
1-2 fresh mangoes, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 cup yogurt of your choice (I used plain, full fat greek yogurt.)
1 cup semi-sweet dark chocolate chips, melted
Hemp hearts (optional)
Unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
How to make Mango Yogurt Clusters:
1. Chop the mango into bite sized pieces and add to a bowl with the yogurt, mixing thoroughly to combine. Add a sprinkle of hemp hearts if desired.
2. Use a spoon to scoop some of the mixture into clusters on a lined baking sheet.
3. Freeze about 30-60 minutes, or until solid enough to handle.
4. Melt the chocolate chips. (PRO TIP: Add about 1 tsp coconut oil to the chocolate chips to help get a smoother consistency when melting.)
5. Once the clusters are solid enough to handle, dip them into the melted chocolate until they are covered completely. Top with coconut shreds if desired. Allow the chocolate to harden, serve and enjoy!
Tips for these Yogurt Clusters:
Return the yogurt clusters to the freezer if the chocolate needs more time to harden.
